Frech joins volleyball staff
March 21, 2008
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Bri Frech, former CSU volleyball standout and video coordinator, will join the Rams volleyball staff as a full-time assistant, Head Coach Tom Hilbert announced Friday. Frech replaces Karrie Larsen, who resigned after the 2007 season to spend more time with her family. The new coach will be responsible for scouting, video and coaching, as well as administrative duties and recruiting support. "Bri has exceptional technical knowledge and proved it to us last season being in our video and statistical coordinator position," said Hilbert. "She was a great player and you won't find a bigger Ram than she is. She loves this place and I think that while she is inexperienced, she is going to be an exceptional coach with the right leadership. "I rarely hire former players without them working somewhere else first. She just showed us time and time again how mature and hard working she is. She is really selfless. That is why I think she is going to be really good on our staff."
Frech played for the Rams from 2003-04 after transferring from Salt Lake City Community College. She made a serious impact on the program and was a member of two teams that went to the NCAAs. In her junior year the Rams advanced to the NCAA regional semifinal before falling to Florida. As a senior, she notched a double-double in an NCAA first-round match, hosted by the Rams. The Rams have begun spring practice and will play several spring matches in the coming months.
