SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Annie Quinn scored three goals and the Rams played strong defense, but Colorado State lost its Western Water Polo Association game Friday afternoon to Cal State San Bernardino, 8-6, at the Coyote Aquatic Center.

The Rams (6-20) couldn't carry over momentum from Wednesday's definitive 18-6 win at Chapman. Friday's loss dropped Colorado State to 6-9 in its conference, and 1-7 on its spring-break swing through Southern California with two games remaining.

Quinn, the Rams' all-time leading scorer, sparked a furious comeback bid in the second half. The senior's third-quarter goal was the first of three CSU scores over a 2-minute, 30-second span that brought the Rams within two at 8-6. Katy Armstrong and Shannon Kohl also scored during that short stretch. However, the Coyotes (14-8) clamped down at that point and matched the Rams' defensive efforts over a scoreless fourth quarter to seal the win.

CSU sophomore goalie Krystyna McCright had nine saves.

The Rams wrap up their Southern California trip with a pair of games Saturday. Both contests are at the same venue, the University of Redlands . CSU meets host Redlands at 9 a.m. PDT, followed by a 1:15 p.m. match with Claremont.
