Jan. 31, 2008 Caledonia, Mich. - In a culture where many student-athletes find themselves going away for college, three Caledonia High School students will remain classmates for the next four years as Brianna Swartz, Lindsey Hooker and Alex Tenelshof all signed letters of intent on Monday afternoon. The three Fighting Scots student athletes will continue their education and athletic careers at Davenport University in the sports of volleyball, basketball and track & field/cross country beginning in the fall of 2008. Alex Tenelshof - T&F/XC - Head Coach Scott Cook is excited to announce the signing of Alex Tenelshof of Caledonia High School. Alex served as a team captain and was an integral part of Caledonia's 7th place finish at the MHSAA Div 2 State Meet. He also earned All-Conference honors in the OK White. Alex's track & field season was highlighted by a 6th place finish at the MHSAA Regional meet in the 3200m. Alex is the son of John and Jan Tenelshof. Brianna Swartz - Basketball - Swartz, a 5'10 guard/forward, averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds a game for the Fighting Scots this year, has chosen to play basketball and pursue a nursing degree at Davenport University. Brianna, also an outstanding volleyball player, carries a 3.72 GPA at CHS. On the court, Bri is equally adept shooting from outside as she is attacking the basket. Her diverse abilities will really help her make the transition to college basketball where she will play for Head Coach Mark Youngs. Lindsey Hooker - Volleyball - Lindsey is a 5'11 middle hitter from Caledonia High School and adds to an already impressive list of student-athletes brought in by Head Coach Rick Rykse. In 2007, Lindsey was selected All-Conference in the OK White . Her current GPA is 3.85 and Lindsey's parents are Ted and Lynette Hooker. |
