ARLINGTON, VA - Playing in its fourth consecutive Saturday Atlantic 10 baseball doubleheader due to poor weather forecasts, Dayton swept a pair of road games against George Washington on Saturday. The Flyers beat the Colonials by scores of 7-1 and 7-3 to increase its conference winning streak to five. Junior Quinn Haselhorst threw the second complete game for Dayton pitching in as many outings as the visiting Flyers beat George Washington, 7-1 in the opener. Haselhorst struck out nine batters and surrendered only a leadoff homer in the sixth inning to record his first complete game outing of the season. He improved to 4-1 on the year after scattering nine hits and three walks. A three-run homer by Scott Dunwoody in the second inning gave visiting Dayton a lead it would not relinquish in a 7-3 win over George Washington to close out the sweep. Dunwoody finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI after hitting his second home run of the season to left field with one out in the second inning. He was one of four Flyers to tally multiple hits in the game as UD out hit GW 14-8. Dayton (22-16, 7-8 A-10) will look to continue its winning ways on Wednesday with a non-conference doubleheader at Butler at 2 p.m. ET.
