Dayton carries the momentum from a four-game winning streak including a sweep of Atlantic 10 Conference foe George Washington into a Wednesday non-conference doubleheader at Butler. The Flyers and Bulldogs will play two seven-inning games beginning at 2 p.m. ET that can be followed with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com. UD has won eight of its last 10 games and has outhit the competition .334 to .264 during that stretch. The Flyers have averaged 7.2 runs per game and nearly 12 hits per contest including at least three for extra bases. Dayton's pitching staff has been solid as well with 3.68 Team ERA with 69 strikeouts and two complete game performances. Overall this season, UD has tallied a 15-8 record against non-conference competition. Kevin Miller has been key for Dayton during the past 10 games with a .417 average and .465 on base percentage that includes six runs scored and seven RBI. Scott Dunwoody has also made a surge during the same span with a .404 average, nine runs scored and 10 RBI while belting two home runs and a double over the past 10 games. Myles Swartzel has added 15 hits in the last 10 contests including five doubles while walking seven times for a .458 on base percentage. Overall seven UD players have tallied a batting average of .295 or higher over the past 10 games. The Flyers will be playing in their eighth doubleheader of the season on Wednesday and hold a 7-7 record in twinbills. Although normally scheduled to play one game each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during conference weekends, Dayton has been forced to play a doubleheader in each of the past four Saturday afternoons. Dayton will look to repeat its recent success against Butler as the Flyers have won their last three meetings with the Bulldogs including a 21-17 victory on March 30, 2005 that saw the Flyers come back from a 14-0 deficit after three innings to win. Following Wednesday's doubleheader UD will return home to play host to Richmond in a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series.
