Dayton, winners in eight of its last 10 games, rolls into New England this weekend for a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference baseball series against Massachusetts. UD and UMass will square off on Friday (3 p.m. ET), Saturday (1 p.m. ET) and Sunday (Noon ET) in a three-game set that can be followed with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.

UD has won seven of its last nine conference games to move into a tie for sixth place in the Atlantic 10 stadings with three conference series remaining. The Flyers are four games out of first place, but only two behind Temple for fourth in a tighty packed A-10 postseason race. The top six teams in the 14-team conference will advance to the A-10 Baseball Championship in Camden, NJ on May 21-24.

A surging offense has been key to Dayton's rise in the A-10 standings. UD has hit .339 as a team overall while tallying wins in 11 of its last 15 games. The Flyers have tallied 29 doubles and 14 homers in that span while outscoring the competition by an average of 7.5-4.7 runs per game. Scott Dunwoody has led the charge by hitting .400 with 11 runs scored and 12 RBI from the second spot in the lineup. In fact all nine of Dayton's positional players have hit .300 or better over the past 15 games.

The trio of Quinn Haselhorst, Alex Dye and Burny Mitchem have each picked up two wins on the mound during Dayton's recent surge. Haselhorst has fanned 17 batters over 23.1 innings pitched in his last three starts while Dye has struck out 14. Mitchem, who was tabbed as the A-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, has 12 strikeouts in just 9.0 innings pitched while holding the opposition to a .235 batting average against him.

Following this weekend's series, Dayton will take part in a pair of non-conference games against MAC opponents next week. The Flyers will travel to Toledo for a 3 p.m. ET game on Tuesday before returning home to play host to Ohio on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. Both games can be followed with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.
