Head Coach Brian Gregory "Richmond does such a good job of developing an atmosphere where you can get caught standing around, both offensively and defensively." "We had guys that stepped up tonight. It was a total team effort. People were concerned that we wouldn't play as hard after Wednesday, but I thought that we did play hard tonight against Richmond." "I'm really proud of our guys. Richmond is a very good team. They are playing better and won a big game the other night. They are a difficult matchup and very tough to play against." "Our guys played with great intensity and great energy today. I thought they picked it up in the second half even though we did a good job in the first half." "We gave up five offensive rebounds in the end of the first half, which is unacceptable. We only allowed three offensive rebounds in the second half, which is much better." "The turning point was when we started getting the ball inside to Kurt. When we were able to penetrate against that defense we had better chances."
Chris Wright "That's what's so special about Stephen Thomas, he gives you quality minutes off the bench. He doesn't go out there and do too much. He stays within himself and we know who he is and we have confidence in him. He played his game and he did a good job tonight." Kurt Huelsman "We were just on our toes the whole time. That type of offense if you get out of your stance or fall asleep is a lay-up. I think we did a really good job of staying focused." "Saint Louis is going to be a fight again. We did a good job on them here and it's going to be a different story on the road. It's going to be a tough environment and it's tough place to play." London Warren "It was tough because you face an offense that you see only once a year and a defense that you face once a year. The guys concentrated really hard to focus on our scouting report and the coaches did a great job preparing us and creating a great game plan." |
