D COACH Brian Gregory "With about three minutes to go, there was a time out, and we just told our guys `This is it.' We were up four, and we said we need to play like we're down four. We need to get every loose ball, every rebound and keep our poise. They cut it to one, but we did keep our poise, which is something we were doing in the early part of the year." "Here's a good example of keeping our poise. Andre misses the front end of a one-and-one, but he doesn't hang his head or do anything like that. He makes a big play on defense that leads to a steal and a dunk by him on the other end." "Give Fordham credit. They are a hard-nosed, blue-collar, street-fighting team. If you beat them, you've earned it. It wasn't pretty, but in some ways I think that was good for us. We've had some tough losses and I think we needed a `tough win' to help exorcise some of those demons." "We made plays down the stretch tonight, including making our free throws. To be honest, if we had shot free throws like that all year, we'd have a lot more wins. But we can't have those games back. What we do have in front of us is the month of March, and this was a great start to the month." |
