Head Coach Brian Gregory "We beat a very, very good team in Marshall, a team that's really coming into their own. That team is going to be really good as the season progresses." "I thought our pressure, our defensive intensity; it has been as good as it has been all year. I think we will have a lot of games like this now. If you look at our schedule this is what we will have. We'll have some games we need to grind out." "We did a great job on our initial defense. We gave them two offensive rebounds in the second half; you're talking about a team that usually averages 15 per game. During that stretch (when Dayton held Marshall scoreless for nine minutes) it was everyone contributing. I think we played all 12 of our guys." "We made a couple of baskets and it felt like we were up 15 points, but we were only up by three. We got to keep getting better. I'm proud of the ways the guy competed, their effort and energy." "(Stephen) Thomas and (Devin) Searcy gave us quality minutes. Some of the baskets Searcy made were in crucial minutes. We are not a team that will be defined by a stats line. Those two guys were so critical in the game." Chris Wright "They were really good and they are a sound team. We give them a lot of credit. They ran their plays and played as a team. No one was trying to out-do the next man." "We're just happy to be 11-1 and it's an early Christmas present for us. We just want to continue to move forward. After the break we have to get back at it. We are happy with this win, but we are not happy with where we are at. We have to finish and continue to work hard." London Warren Stephen Thomas "It feels good when everybody appreciates the hard work. I might not score a lot or do a lot of the high-flying dunks. To be noticed for my hard work feels good." Devin Searcy "I think that's the main thing. I had to work on in the off-season just getting comfortable out there. I understand my role and try to perform it the best of my ability to help the team." |
