At Dayton:
In the 2008 season, Phillips saw game action in three games for the Flyers, punting 11 times for a 31.5 average. He had a long punt of 45 yards and put four punts inside the 20-yard-line. He is in the mix to see time at quarterback this season. He was a member of the 2008 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

Personal:
Son of Howie and Grace Phillips....Born on November 15, 1989....Has one brother, Kyle....Majoring in Exercise Science at UD....A versatile performer, Phillips lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track for Alpena High School. He was team captain in both football and basketball, Alpena's Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, and an all-conference honoree as a quarterback and punter. He was a member of National Honor Society, recipient of four academic letters and graduated in the top 5% of his class.
