DAYTON CLIMBS TO A 14TH PLACE FINISH AT UK BLUEGRASS INVITE

LEXINGTON, Ky. - With the strong play of sophomore Chris Woeste and freshman Michael Oberschmidt, the Dayton Flyers climbed up the leaderboard to finish in 14th at the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Invitational. Woeste shot a team-best 76 in the third and final round to finish tied for 39th overall. He completed the tournament with a 231 after posting a 77 and 78 in the first two rounds. Oberschmidt continued to play well and aggressively. He fired a third round 78 to also tie for 39th overall. Senior Mitch Custenborder fired an 81, while senior Rob Chappell carded an 83 in the third round. Both seniors came in tied for 73rd each with scores of 242. Sophomore Jeff Hodapp shot an 85 on Sunday, but still finished the tournament tied for 71st with a 241 total. As a team Dayton shot a 318 in the third round and completed the tournament with a 940 total. UD shot back-to-back scores of 311 in the first two rounds. Dayton heads to the Titan Invitational for its next tournament on April 17-18. The even will be take place at the Golden Fox Golf Club in Plymouth, Mich. |
