    HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Behind a 74 from senior Rob Chappell, the Dayton Flyers are in eighth after the first round of the 2009 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship.

    Overall the Flyers shot a 313 after the first round and are 31 strokes back of the defending champion Charlotte 49ers for first place.

    Playing under brilliant sunshine on the 6,887-yard, par-71 course, sophomore Chris Woeste extended his streak of rounds below an 80 to 12 after shooting a 78 in round one.

    Senior Mitch Custenborder tallied an 80 after round one, while sophomore Jeff Hodapp was one stroke behind with an 81.

    Freshman Michael Oberschmidt rounded out the scoring with an 82.
