FLYERS READY TO TEE IT BACK UP AT THE BALL STATE CARDINAL COLLEGIATE
March 27, 2009
JASPER, Ind. - Looking to move forward and bounce back after a disappointing finish in their last tournament, the Dayton Flyers men's golfers tee it back up at the Ball State Cardinal Collegiate on March 28 and 29. The event will take place at Sultan's Run Golf Club in Jasper, Ind. The format will be 54 holes or three rounds and officials will count the low four of five scores in each round. There will be an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start each day for the rounds. Dayton will compete in the 14-team tournament against Ball State, Miami, Austin Peay, Evansville, Wright State, Oakland, Indiana, Loyola Chicago, IUPUI, IPFW, Cincinnati, Cleveland State and Youngstown State. UD is coming off a disappointing ninth place finish at the Butler Spring Invitational. Sophomore Chris Woeste shot a final round of 74 and sophomore Zach Glassman added a final round 78 to lead the Flyers. This will be the third spring event of the season for Dayton and the second in a week. Thus far the Flyers average 314.67 strokes per round during the spring, much higher than the 299.00 stroke average during the fall campaign. |
