  • University of Dayton Men's Soccer Spring 2009 Schedule

    The University of Dayton men's soccer squad will host a mini-tournament at Baujan Field, play a professional soccer team and travel to the University of Kentucky, all as part of its 2009 spring schedule.

    The Flyers kicked off the spring portion of their schedule with a 1-0 win over Michigan on Saturday, March 21. The Wolverines are a team that advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship last season.

    Next up for Dayton is the Cleveland City Stars, the 2008 USL-2 Division champions. The game will be played at the Athletes in Action complex in Xenia, Ohio on April 4 at 10 a.m. ET.

    The Flyers will host the Dayton Spring Mini-Tournament on Saturday, April 11 at Baujan Field. The day will consist of four 60-minute games with the field comprised of: Dayton, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Western Michigan. The Flyers will take on the Bearcats at 11:30 a.m. ET and will also play Ohio State with a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

    Dayton will travel to the University of Kentucky's tournament and play against Memphis at 11 a.m. ET and Indiana-Evansville at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 18.

    "We are, once again, excited to have a competitive spring schedule," said UD head coach Dennis Currier. "It is important to face the best competition to test our guys to their fullest potential."

    During the Fall 2008 season the Flyers earned their first-ever NCAA Men's Soccer Championship berth and their first Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship since 1998. Dayton posted a school-best 15 wins, en route to its 15-4-3 overall record which was the ninth best winning percentage in NCAA Division men's soccer.
