MONROEVILLE, Pennsylvania - Sophomore Bryce Warnock and freshman Austin Wiegand each went 2-0, but it was not enough as the ninth-seeded University of Dayton Flyers lost their opening round match at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday to No. 8 Saint Joseph's, 4-2.

Warnock and Wiegand paired up at No. 3 doubles to defeated Pat Adams and Matt Prusack, 8-4, but Saint Joe's won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take the first point.

In singles, Warnock and Wiegand both cruised to straight-sets victories. At No. 3, Warnock topped Mike Stauble, 6-1, 6-4, while Wiegand bested Peter Cognetti at No. 6, 6-3, 6-4.

The Flyers will play again on Saturday at 8 a.m. EST against No. 12 Fordham. The winner finishes in a tie for ninth place.
