OLEAN, New York - The University of Dayton women's basketball team came up short in a 55-45 loss to St. Bonaventure in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action at the Reilly Center Wednesday evening. Dayton fell to 13-10 (2-5 A-10) with the loss, while SBU improved to 16-5 (5-2) with the win.

Kristin Daugherty was the only player to reach double figures in scoring for UD collecting 10 points in the game. Freshmen Justine Raterman and Casey Nance finished with nine and eight rebounds, respectively. Nance tallied a game-high two blocks.

SBU led 34-12 in bench points, 24-20 in points in the paint and out-shot UD 37 to 27 percent in the game. The Flyers were also out-rebounded 42-39 by the Bonnies.

St. Bonaventure was led by Armelia Horton who tallied 13 points and nine rebounds on the night. Teammate Dana Mitchell also finished in double figures with 10 points.

UD got behind early as St. Bonaventure started the game with three-straight baskets to own the lead 7-0 in the first 90 seconds of the game.

However, Dayton got back in it when Kristin Daugherty hit a jumper at 18:12 and Justine Raterman followed it up with one of her own to cut the margin.

After a steal and pass from Patrice Lalor, Kendel Ross would sink a three to tie it up 7-7 at the first media timeout.

The score would remain knotted for nearly three minutes until Raterman sank two throws for UD's first lead of the game 9-7 with 13:05 on the clock.

The Bonnies remained scoreless for six minutes, but Armelia Horton would end the team's drought sparking an 11-0 run over the course of three minutes to push the lead 18-11 with 9:19 remaining.

Bona would continue to shoot the ball and pull away with its biggest lead of the half by 14 points after a bucket from Megan Van Tatenhove.

The Flyers shooting woes continued and the team would go 8-of-30 in the first half to trail, 34-22, at intermission.

Out of the break, Dayton attempted to rally on a 7-0 spurt. The Bonnies were without a basket for four and a half minutes until Horton got one up at 15:25.

The Flyers would cut the lead to bring the score within five points after a bucket from Kayla Moses, but SBU's Dana Mitchell would answer back with a trey for a 42-35 lead with 11:49 left to play.

St. Bonaventure continued to play strong in the stretch as the Flyers could never comeback eventually losing, 55-45.
