Head Coach Jim Jabir
"I'm very proud of our team. For them to be this young and play with the kind of poise and courage they did today. It's inspiring."

"I'm a little overwhelmed. Xavier is a great team...to go toe-to-toe with them. We held them to 30 percent from the field and out-rebounded them by six. To show this kind of resilience and character shows that we have kids with character. We beat a great team today."

"With such a young group of kids I worried about momentum. We had a lull in the second. I felt like our kids...were great...and our coaches kept me in line. I owe a lot to our staff. It was really a team effort. It's a whole team effort today."

"The zone changed the tempo of the game for them instead of attacking it's standing. That was the purpose of going zone. We were disciplined going under their ball screens. Our staff was great in getting that out to our kids."

De'Sarae Chambers
"I felt pressure. I did not want to lose. I wanted to do anything for the team to win. I was a little nervous all through the game, but I had faith that we'd pull it out."

Justine Raterman
"We had to come together. It was all about heart. We are equal teams. Whoever came out the hardest was going to win and we really wanted it."

"That was a huge goal for us to out-rebound Xavier. Every possession is what we had to do...keeping them to one shot, crashing the boards every single time on the offensive end."

"The first two games versus Xavier we didn't know what to expect as freshmen. We won the big one, the one that matters. It's so exciting to be a part of this right now. We wanted it so bad and that's the difference. "
