DAYTON, Ohio - The Dayton women's basketball team will play host to I-75 rival Xavier University on "Red Out" Thursday at UD Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET in a contest that can be followed with live audio (1610 AM), Gametracker, and video streaming at www.DaytonFlyers.com. All fans attending the game are encouraged to wear red for a "red out" in the arena.

The Flyers enter looking to pick up their 20th win of the year and their third straight Atlantic 10 win on Valentine's Day. UD is 19-5 this season, including 9-1 in home games and are coming off a road win at Fordham 56-39 on Saturday, behind 19 points from Nikki Oakland.

Senior Brittany Holterman also led UD with 12 points and a season-high 12 rebounds for her second career double-double in the win. The Flyer forward has been producing for Dayton both offensively and defensively all season. The team leader in minutes played (29.5 mpg) has spent at least 30 minutes on the court 12 times this season while shooting .529 from the field. She leads the team in steals (35), is second in scoring (10.9 ppg) and third in rebounding (4.8 rpg).

Dayton's 19th win marked a new modern (Division I) school-record for wins in a season.

UD is currently fifth in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings and will look to fight off A-10 opponents including the second place Musketeers, in order to secure a fourth place spot and a first-round bye in the 2008 A-10 Conference Championships. XU (17-6, 7-1) has won seven-straight leading into Thursday's game and are led by defensive-threat Amber Harris. Harris leads the conference with 2.78 bpg, is second in rebounding (9.0 rpg) and averages 16.0 ppg for seventh in the A-10.

Although Dayton leads the all-time series 28-23, the Musketeers have won nine straight including two last year: at UD Arena on Jan. 9 (71-54) and in Cincinnati (80-52) on Feb. 11. Dayton is 18-9 all-time when playing the Musketeers at home, but XU has picked up four in a row at UD Arena. The last time Dayton won was on January 7, 2003 at UD Arena (82-65).

Following Thursday's match-up, the Flyers remain home for game two of a three-game home stretch. UD will face Rhode Island on "Think Pink" Sunday (Feb. 17) as the team celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Fans are encouraged to come to UD Arena early to interact with UD women's sports team along the concourse. The festivities begin at noon and the game will tipoff at 2 p.m. ET.
