DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton women's basketball player Justine Raterman was named to the 2009 Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team on Monday after guiding the Flyers to their third-ever appearance in the tournament semifinals. Raterman was the only player to be named to the championship team that was not on one of the teams that made it to the finals. Joining her was Danielle Bell (Charlotte), Shannon McCallum (Charlotte), Traci Ray (Charlotte), and Brittani Shells (Richmond). The A-10 Rookie of the Year averaged 14.7 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game during the tournament. She scored a game-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field including 6-of-7 shooting from the line in the defeat of Saint Louis in the first round. The Versailles, Ohio native tallied her eighth double-double of the season to lead UD past the nationally-ranked Xavier Musketeers on Saturday in the quarterfinals. Raterman tallied 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. She scored eight points and hurled in eight boards against Richmond in Dayton's third-ever conference semifinal appearance on Sunday. In addition to her Rookie of the Year award, she was also named to the A-10 Honorable Mention and A-10 All-Rookie Teams. |
