DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will make its first ever appearance in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament when the team takes on Indiana. The Flyers and Hoosiers will tip-off Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m. ET.

The Flyers advanced to the second round after knocking off Oakland on Thursday, 70-55 in the first round. It was Dayton's first postseason win since turning Division I. The Flyers were led by sophomore Kristin Daugherty who scored a game-high 19 points.

Freshman Justine Raterman tallied the ninth double-double of her career with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Kendel Ross also grabbed 10 boards and finished the game with seven points, four assists, and four steals.

Dayton moved to 21-13 on the season with the win.

SCOUTING INDIANA
The Hoosiers currently stand at 19-10 after a season that included a nine-game win streak and Indiana's best start to the Big Ten season in program history. IU has been led by a group of starters that are averaging double-digit points. The Hoosiers' balanced attack marks Indiana as the only team in the Big Ten with five players in double-digits ranking among the top-25 in scoring in the league.

Senior Amber Jackson leads Indiana with 13.0 points per game, while junior Jamie Braun is on her heels with 12.4 points per contest. Senior Whitney Thomas leads IU on the boards with 8.7 rebounds per game and classmate Kim Roberson, Indiana's all-time steals leader, leads the Hoosiers' defensive attack with 2.8 steals per game.

Indiana is coached by Felisha Legette-Jack is in her third year at the helm of the Hoosier program with a career mark of 110-102 over seven seasons. She led the Hoosiers to back-to-back postseason berths in the WNIT and an 18-15 mark in 2007-08.

SERIES STUFF
Sunday's game marks the 10th all-time meeting between the two schools. Indiana leads the all-time series 6-3 including a 4-1 mark at Assembly Hall. Indiana has won the last six of seven, but the Flyers defeated the Hoosiers last season at UD Arena, 67-59.

The winner of Sunday's game will play the winner of the Bowling Green/Syracuse match-up. The date, time, and location of the third round of the WNIT is to be designated.
