    AVON, Ind. - Three Dayton Flyers finished in the Top 10 overall helping UD to a second place finish at the Butler Spring Invitational.

    Junior Katie Dempsey and sophomore Julie Pouliquen each tied for fourth, while freshman Clara Ang placed in a tie for eighth as UD earned its best finish since placing in second at the Youngstown State Invitational in September.

    After shooting a 78 in round one, Pouliquen fired an 84 and finished with a 162, eight shots behind the tournament leader. Dempsey came back from an 82 on day one to tally an 80 in round two to complete the tournament with a 162 total as well.

    Ang played consistently once again scoring an 81 in round two. She was just one stroke behind Pouliquen and Dempsey at 163 overall.

    Junior Katie Gallagher rebounded from a tough first round to also fire an 81. Gallagher rebounded from an 87 in round one to finish in a tie for 16th among individuals.

    Also in a tie for 16th was junior Paige Smith, who added an 83 in the second round. Smith had an 85 going into day two and completed the tournament with a 168.

    As a team, UD shot a 325 in round two and finished seven strokes away from the tournament champion, the University of Northern Iowa.

    The Flyers' next tournament will take place at the EKU Invitational from the Arlington County Club in Richmond, Ky. The event will take place from April 11-12.
