BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Battling choppy waters, the Dayton Flyers Varsity and 2nd Varsity eights were run in their spring opener at Indiana University.

The Flyers finished in second in both heats as all other races were cancelled for safety reasons at the 2,000 meter course from Lake Lemon in Bloomington.

In the Varsity 8 UD rowed a time of 8:44.1, just five seconds behind the Indiana boat. The 2nd Varsity 8 clocked in with a time of 9:21.1.

However as the winds picked up so did the conditions forcing the cancellation of the Varsity Four, Novice Eight and Novice Four.

UD returns to action with a meet against Duquesne and West Virginia on Saturday, April 5 in Dayton, Ohio.
