    STAR CITY, W. Va. - Three Dayton Flyers boats came in second place as UD continued its spring season at a four-team meet hosted by West Virginia.

    The Flyers' Varsity 8 continues to make strides during the spring season as UD came in second with a time of 6:27.7 in the four-team meet.

    Dayton's Varsity 8 came up just short to George Mason by a mere five seconds. But the Varsity 8 was not the only boat to earn second place honors.

    UD's Varsity 4 placed in second with a time of 7:07.9, just 1.6 seconds away from defeating West Virginia in the closest race of the day.

    Dayton's Second Novice 4 also placed in second falling to George Mason with a time of 7:42.0.

    The Second Varsity 8 came in third after finishing with a time of 7:03.1, while the Novice 8 also came in third completing the heat at 6:22.5.

    The Flyers' Lightweight 4 lost to Duquesne in a two-boat race with a time of 7:28.4.

    Next up for the Flyers will be a dual meet against Cincinnati's club team on Wednesday, April 8. That will be held at East Fork State Park on Lake Harsha.
