The University of Dayton took four honors on this week's Atlantic 10 Honor Roll. The Flyers earned Performer of the Week honors in softball and men's tennis as well as Rookie of the Week in baseball and men's tennis. Laura Matthews earned Atlantic 10 weekly honors when she went 5-of-8 on the weekend, with two multi-hit games. She crossed the plate twice and drove in three runs at the EKU Invitational finishing with two doubles. Matthews also made the game-saving out by tagging out a runner at home on an errant pitch. Matt Sherman garnered honors in men's tennis this week for his 3-0 record over the weekend. Sherman defeated Northern Kentucky (6-2, 6-2) on Feb. 26. He also knocked off Saint Louis (7-6 (4), (6-4) and Youngstown State (6-2, 6-2) in singles play. Sherman also defeated Northern Kentucky (8-6), Saint Louis (8-2) and Youngstown (8-4) in doubles play. Jimmy Roesinger was recognized as baseball's Rookie of the Week for his 4-for-10, three run and five RBI performance in a sweep over High Point. He collected two hits and scored three runs in the Flyers 20-4 trouncing of High Point on Saturday. Roessinger also added a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt to his totals last weekend. Bryce Warnock was also selected Rookie of the Week for men's tennis. Warnock knocked off NKU (6-1, 6-2), Youngstown State (6-0, 6-0) and Saint Louis (7-5, 7-5) he also defeated NKU doubles opponent (8-6) and has garnered his second straight Rookie of the Week selection. |
