Salinas and Trent Honored By NAC Coaches



Jessica Salinas was named to the All-NAC 2nd Team after averaging 17.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in NAC action.

River Forest, Ill. - The Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) released the 2007-2008 Women's Basketball All-NAC teams with Dominican University's Jessica Salinas (Bolingbrook, IL) landing on the All-Conference 2nd Team.

Salinas, a 5'10" forward, was the Stars' leading scorer on the season, averaging 18.1 points per game, scoring 453 points in the Stars' 25 contests. In NAC play, Salinas ranked fourth in the conference in scoring (17.1 ppg) and led the NAC field goal percentage (.616). In fact, Salinas ranked fourth in the country among NCAA Division III women's basketball players, posting a 63.9 field goal percentage as she converted on 199 of her 299 field goal attempts. In a game at Wisconsin Lutheran College on December 8, 2007, Salinas tied the NCAA women's basketball record for field goal percentage in a game as she went a perfect 14-for-14 from the field in an 80-68 loss.

A sophomore, Salinas led the Stars in scoring in 16 of the team's 25 games and led Dominican in rebounding 11 times. In just two seasons, 50 games, Salinas has amassed 865 career points and 395 career rebounds.

Along with Salinas, junior Lindsey Trent (Frankfort, IN) received honorable mention for the All-NAC team. Trent was the Stars' second-leading scorer on the season, averaging 13.3 points per game. In NAC play, Trent scored 14.3 points per game, ranking ninth in the NAC. Trent ranked in the top 15 in the NAC in scoring, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and defensive rebounding.

In back-to-back wins for the Stars in January, Trent poured in 31 points against Benedictine University and Marian College.

The Stars finished the season with an overall record of 9-16, going 7-11 in the NAC.
