March 17, 2008

Results

PHILADELPHIA - The Duquesne women's tennis team took the No. 1 and No. 2 singles points, but it was not enough as they fell 5-2 to a hot Temple team. The Owls, winners of 11 in a row, took the doubles point winning two of the three matches.

Duquesne got both their points from reigning A-10 rookie of the week Zena Williams at No. 1 singles and current A-10 player of the week Johanna Bezjak at No. 2 singles.

Williams was a 6-2, 6-4 winner and Bezjak won 6-4, 6-4.

The Dukes will be stepping out of conference play to host Youngstown State on March 25th before ending the month against Dayton (Mar. 28) and Xavier (Mar. 29). All three matches will be played at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville.
