Women's Tennis Rolls Past Niagara 7-0

GIBSONIA - The Duquesne women's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match Sunday afternoon. The Dukes blanked Niagara 7-0 and improved to 10-4 on the season.

The Dukes won two the doubles point as Rebecca Poole and Alexandria Albano breezed to an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Kristen Swenson and Lanna Buehler held off the Purple Eagles at No. 2 doubles 8-6. NU defaulted No. 3 doubles.

At singles, DU won 10 of 11 sets, eight by a score of 6-0. Zena Williams won No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1 while Johanna Bezjak, Poole and Rachel McGowan won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively. Andrea Sailer won No. 5 singles by a score of 6-0, 1-6, 10-7. No. 6 singles was defaulted.

The Dukes have two more matches before the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship - Apr. 9 against Pittsburgh and Apr. 12 at Akron.
