Baseball predicted for fifth place finish

Endicott looks to improve upon 2007 season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - A year removed from a seventh place finish, the Endicott baseball team has been selected to finish fifth in The Commonwealth Conference Baseball Preseason Poll released on Tuesday.

Defending Commonwealth Coast Champion Curry College has been selected as the favorite to win the 2008 Commonwealth Coast Conference baseball championship, it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the league's head baseball coaches.

Curry College (27-9, 18-2) received eight of the 12 first-place votes in the 2008 TCCC preseason poll. Western New England who received the remaining four first place votes and Salve Regina were tied for the second spot in the preseason poll. Roger Williams was selected to finish fourth, while Endicott and was picked to finish fifth.

Teams received 12 points for every first place vote received, 11 points for second place votes, 10 points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are shown in parentheses.
