NEW LONDON, N.H. - Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.) scored 13 points and Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.) added 10 as Endicott College handed the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer their third conference loss of the season, downing the hosts 67-49 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action Wednesday evening.
A defensive battle in the first half, the Chargers built at six point lead with just over two minutes remaining in the opening frame. Endicott came alive in the closing moments, ending the half on a 9-1 run, taking a two point lead, 26-24, into the locker room.
Endicott opened the second half on a 9-0 run, increasing its lead to 11, 35-24, and never looked back. The Chargers were unable to recover, trailing by double digits the entire half as the Gulls went on to the 18 point victory.
For Colby-Sawyer (12-7, 5-3 TCCC), Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass.) led the way with 13 points and five rebounds while Emma Pasquale (Eliot, Maine) added 10 points and four blocks in the loss.
For the Gulls (13-7, 8-0 TCCC), Vitale recorded a double-double as she added 11 rebounds to her 10 point performance. TCCC Player of the Week Ceciley Chisholm (Lexington, Mass.) had nine points in the win.
Colby-Sawyer returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 9 as they play host to the Seahawks of Salve Regina at 1 p.m. Endicott will put its undefeated TCCC record on the line on Saturday afternoon as the Gulls travel to Weston, Mass. to take on Regis College at 1:00 p.m.
