BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott College turned 17 Salve Regina turnovers into 21 points, as the Gulls flew past the visiting Seahawks, 78-67, on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the MacDonald Gymnasium. Endicott turned the ball over 15 times, however Salve only converted the EC miscues into five points.

A see-saw battle for the much of the first half, Salve Regina built its largest lead of the afternoon on a pull-up jumper by Andrea Rand (Rochester, Mass.) to go up 16-11. Not to be outdone, Endicott responded with a nine-point run, capped off by consecutive lay-ins from Aubrey Drugan (Salem, N.H.) to give the Gulls a 20-16 lead. Endicott would enter the dressing room with a 33-27 halftime advantage.

Allegra Lovoy (Charlestown, R.I.) came racing out of the intermission as the junior guard quickly helped erase the Endicott lead. A slick turn-around jumper on the near baseline put the Seahawks back in front, 45-42, with 13:04 left in regulation.

The Gulls were once again up to the challenge as Ashley Vitale (Wilmington, Mass.) and Jenna Cosgrove (Sharon, Mass.) knotted the game at 50-all on back-to-back buckets. Moment's later, the defending TCCC Player of the Week Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.) returned the lead to the Endicott side as she dialed in from behind the arc to put the Gulls up five.

The five point lead grew to as many as 12 down the closing stretch as the Gulls converted their late opportunity free throws. In the end, Endicott was able to hold on for a 78-67 TCCC victory.

Salve Regina had four players reach double-figures as Allison Moen (Yonkers, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Allegra Lovoy scored a team-high 15 points while Kristen Stone (West Roxbury, Mass.) chipped in 14. Erin Phillips (Morristown, N.J.) finished the afternoon with 10 points and five assists.

Endicott also had four players score in double-figures as Nicole Duchesne had a game-high 16 points. Ceciley Chisholm (Lexington, Mass.) notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Aubrey Drugan scored 13 points while classmate Rachael Bradley (Lynn, Mass.) accounted for 11 in the win. Fellow senior Sara Doherty (Somerville, Mass.) had a game-high six assists.

Endicott now stands at 15-8 overall and a conference best 10-1 in the TCCC. Salve Regina drops to 12-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play. Both teams return to action on Wednesday as Endicott hosts New England College and Salve Regina will meet Eastern Nazarene in Newport, R.I.
