BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College women's basketball team built a 33-17 halftime lead and never looked back, as the Gulls cruised past Roger Williams University, 67-46, in the quarterfinals of The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament on Tuesday night in Beverly, Massachusetts.

The Endicott defense came to play in the opening half as the Blue and Green held the Hawks to just 24.1% shooting (7-of-29) in the first 20 minutes. The Gulls also capitalized on 13 first half Hawk turnovers, resulting in 13 EC points. Junior guard Jenna Cosgrove (Sharon, Mass./Sharon) dropped nine of her team-leading 10 points in the first frame, as she shot 3-of-4 from the field and also hit a 3-ball for the Gulls.

With the score knotted at 10-all, the hosts erupted for a 9-0 run capped off by a 3-pointer from TCCC First Team selection Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H./Central Catholic). The Gulls would coast into the intermission with a 16 point advantage.

In the second, Endicott would extend its lead to as many as 31 points as Rachael Bradley (Lynn, Mass./St. Mary's of Lynn) found a wide-open Kaylin Burke (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) for three, putting the Gulls up 56-25. From there, Endicott was able to cruise to the 67-46 first round win.

Endicott had three players reach double-figures as the Gulls got a team-high 10 points from Nicole Duchesne, Jenna Cosgrove and Ashley Wright (Merrimack, N.H./Trinity).

Roger Williams was paced by a game-high 12 points from Caitlyn Leone (Irvington, N.Y./Hackley). Jackie Criss (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) finished the night with eight points, five rebounds and two assists in the losing effort.

With the win, top-seeded Endicott improves to 18-8 overall. Roger Williams will close out its season at 12-14. The Gulls return to action on Thursday evening as they will host No. 4 Colby-Sawyer College. The Chargers dominated No. 5 Salve Regina, 86-57, on Tuesday to advance to the semifinals against Endicott. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
