BEVERLY, Mass. - Colby-Sawyer College's Noelle Surette (Buxton, Maine) and Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass) accounted for 33 of the Chargers' 56 points, as fourth-seeded CSC knocked off No. 1 Endicott, 56-45, on Thursday night in The Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinals in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Surette and Duffy got the visitors started as the duo scored Colby-Sawyer's first eight baskets, capped off by a 3-pointer from Surette to put the Chargers up, 18-9. Endicott was equal to the early challenge as the Gulls battled their way back even, knotting the game at 24-all on a lay-in from Ceciley Chisholm (Lexington, Mass.).

Colby-Sawyer closed out the first half with an impressive 8-2 spurt that included a Kayt Racz (Worthington, Mass.) connection from behind the arc. The Chargers defense held Endicott scoreless for the final two minutes of the half, as the visitors escaped into the dressing room with a 32-26 halftime lead.

In the second the visitors pushed their lead to 12 on a 3-ball from Surette, giving Colby-Sawyer its largest cushion of the night, 43-31. The Gulls battled their way back within six on several occasions, only to have the Chargers respond with back-breaking buckets of their own.

With 3:39 left in regulation and Endicott down six, Amy Hebert (Keene, N.H.) picked up the hoop and the foul to convert the three-point play to return the CSC advantage to nine. Moment's later, the Endicott defense stepped its game up and was able to cut it a two possession game with under two minutes left in the contest. Despite the effort, Noelle Surette delivered the final dagger as she buried a deep 3-pointer just as the shot clock expired, sending the Chargers to the conference finals.

Surette finished the night with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting including 4-of-8 from behind the arc. The Commonwealth Coast Conference First Team selection also had seven rebounds in the win. Terri Duffy posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, despite finding herself in foul trouble for much the second half. Emma Pasquale (Eliot, Maine) flirted with a triple-double, notching seven points, eight rebounds and an astonishing seven blocks. The Chargers finished the night with nine rejections, while holding Endicott to just 27.3% shooting from the field.

Endicott was led by TCCC First Team honoree Nicole Duchesne's (Plaistow, N.H.) 13 points. Second Team member Ceciley Chisholm had eight points and a game-high 12 rebounds in the losing effort.

With the win, the fourth-seeded Chargers (19-7, 10-3 TCCC) advance to The Commonwealth Coast Conference finals on Saturday afternoon.
