Endicott finishes atop the TCCC with a perfect 10-0 conferece record

MILTON, Mass. - The Endicott College women's lacrosse team survived a second half surge by Curry College to win their final regular season game by the score of 14-13 in Milton, Mass. on Saturday. The Gulls finished atop the The Commonwealth Coast Conference with an undefeated conference record of 10-0.

Endicott was in total control in the early going, getting three goals from junior Alex Pearce (Underhill, Vt.) while building an 8-1 lead.

Trailing 10-2, the Colonels roared back to score the final three goals of the first half, as sophomore Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, Mass.) collected a goal and an assist to cut the Endicott lead down to 10-5.

The Colonels took their momentum into the second period going on a 4-1 run to start the half. Hansbury capped the run with back-to-back goals, chopping the EC advantage down to two at 11-9.

EC defended there lead scoring three of the next four goals, including two by Alex Pearce, to take a 14-10 edge with close to 10 minutes left on the clock.

Curry rallied, eventually getting back within one goal when Hansbury found the back of the net for the seventh time with just 27 seconds left on the clock.

That was as close as the Colonels got, as Endicott held on for a 14-13 victory. Alex Pearce led EC with five goals while freshman Kellie Cunningham (Derry, N.H.) had a game-high three assists. Ashley Hansbury stood out or the Colonels scoring a game-high seven goals and eight points.

The Gulls finish the season undefeated in the TCCC with a perfect record of 10-0. Overall they finish the year at a very respectable 12-5. Curry College falls to 11-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play, finishing the season in fifth place in the TCCC. Endicott will enter as the top seed in the TCCC Tournament beginning on Tuesday.
