GAINESVILLE, FL - The Florida Atlantic track team performed well at the Tom Jones Classic on Saturday.

The 4x400 relay team of Yanique Booth, Trishauna Clarke, Brandi Prather and Kerry-Ann Stewart smashed the previous school record in that event finishing eighth in a time of 3:50.56, taking more than three and a half seconds off of the old mark. Friederike Feil set a personal record in the mile finishing in a time of 4:56.56, good for fifth place.

In the 800 meters, Patricia Gumbs (2:18.53, 10th), Toni Jackson (2:19.66/14th) and Charlene Luxama (2:21.20/17th) all set personal records. The distance medley relay team of Christina Dutko, Lindsay Glover, Jackson and Feil finished second only to host Florida in a time of 12:24.45.

The Owls return to Gainesville next weekend to compete in the Gainesville Sports Commission Indoors.
