BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team will begin its 2008 preseason with a "Kick-Off Party" hosted by the Martin County Chapter of the FAU Alumni Association. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30 at 5 p.m. at Bonefish Mac's Sports Grille, 662 SE Becker Road, Port St. Lucie.

Football Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger will be on-hand to sign autographs and preview the 2008 Owls, who open the 2008 season on Saturday, August 30 in Austin, Texas against the University of Texas.

Guests also will enjoy appetizers, beverages and giveaways. Football season tickets and game gear also will be available for purchase.

The 2008 season home opener is scheduled for 4 p.m., Saturday, September 6 when the Owls play host to UAB. Season and individual game tickets may be purchased by calling 1-866-FAU-OWLS (6957)
