BOCA RATON, FL - The regular season title chances of the Florida Atlantic (28-22, 10-6) softball team took a hit as the Owls fell to Louisiana-Lafayette 4-0 on Thursday night.

UL took a 2-0 lead in the third inning when Vanessa Soto doubled in Holly Tankersley and Katie Smith.

The Ragin' Cajuns added a run in both the fifth and sixth innings to take a 4-0 lead. FAU was held hitless until Amber Barton led off the seventh inning. The Owls will now head to Monroe, LA to take on the ULM Warhawks in a three-game series starting on Saturday.
