Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham University freshman pitcher Beckah Wiggins (Conklin, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) earned her first Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week award it was announced today. She is the second Ram this season to earn Rookie of the Week honors, as Jocelyn Dearborn received the honor on February 18th.

Wiggins recorded her first career win and first shutout this past weekend at the ECU Pirate Clash in Greenville, N.C. She threw a two-hit shutout against Towson for her first collegiate win, striking out five in the game. She posted a 2.76 ERA and nine strikeouts in four appearances and 12.2 innings of work.

The Fordham softball team (5-9) will next be in action on Tuesday, March 4th, as they have their home opener against Iona College, beginning at 2:00 PM. The Rams will then head off to College Park, Maryland to play in the Maryland Invitational, March 7-9.
