FRESNO, Calif. - Sharon Ayala put up another stellar performance in the weight throw Friday, winning the event and leading the Bulldogs to fifth after two days of the three day WAC Indoor Track & Field meet in Nampa, Idaho.
With only six events scored, Fresno State has 26.5 points for fifth in the hunt for the WAC title. Hawaii put up 53 points for the current lead, with Nevada in second with 40.5. Idaho's 39 points is good enough for third and Utah State holds fourth with 28. Ayala, who provisionally qualified for the NCAA National meet with a toss of 63-9.5, threw a meet-high 59-11 for the gold medal.
