FRESNO, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference honored 22 Fresno State track and field athletes with Academic All-WAC accolades. To earn the award, the student-athletes had to have completed one full academic year with a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

The Bulldogs placed 14 women on the academic honorees' list, including five freshmen. Fresno State's female recipients are: Briana Cleary, Leshay Dorsey, Erica Embry, Andrea Greenman, Meredith Hawkins, Marissa McPhail, Shay Miles, Cara Montes, Janev Morris, Cindy Rojas, Rosario Sanchez, Sarah Savage, Roxanne Sellick, Nancy Vizcarra, and Grace Wiesmann.

Five men earned the honor for the Bulldogs. David Deal, Taylor Franzman, Brandon Geis, Lyle Quillin, Frank Sanders, Brian Vazquez, and Chris Witscher all were named to the Academic All-WAC team.
