Men's Tennis Dominates Ursinus

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team won all six singles matches and two out of three doubles to defeat Ursinus 8-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday.

Four players were double winners for the Diplomats (3-2, 1-1 CC), including Doug Silverstein at the No. 1 spot. Josh Hollaman and Ryan Metcalf picked up the lone win for the Bears (2-7, 0-4 CC) at No. 3 doubles (8-6).

Silverstein and Noah Bachow had no problems at the top doubles position, winning 8-2 over Jason Zerbe and Greg Lewis. Brett Joseph and Armen Vartan recorded the second win on the day for F&M with a 8-2 decision at the No. 2 spot.

Silverstein managed a 6-1, 6-3 victory and Vartan only surrendered two games in his singles match (6-1, 6-1). Bachow defeated Lewis 6-1, 6-3 before Matthew Barker collected another point at No. 4 singles (6-1, 6-0). Joseph and Josh Calo round out the final points collected by the Diplomats, earning 6-3, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0 victories, respectively.

F&M returns to Tuesday against Washington. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
