LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's Bonnie Crouthamel held Penn State Hazelton to two hits in an 8-0, mercy-rule shortened victory on Thursday afternoon. F&M (5-15) completed the sweep of the Lady Lions with a 4-1 win in the closer.

Crouthamel struck out four batters and allowed only a single and a triple to earn the win and improve to 2-11 on the year. The Diplomats were the beneficiaries of additional effective pitching in the closer. Meredith Morgan worked four innings, striking out a better per, and allowing one run on six hits to get to 2-2 on the year. Ali Tyler picked up her first save of the season pitching the final three. She gave up one hit and struck out three.

The first game ended with a walk-off two-run homer off of the bat of F&M catcher, Lauren Incorvaia. Her shot plated Robyn Jones, who had reached with a one out single up the middle. Incorvaia's crossing invoked the eight-run rule, ending the contest.

PSU-Hazelton came unglued in the second inning of the opening contest. F&M catcher, Lauren Incorvaia, reached second on a dropped fly ball to lead off the inning. She stole her way to third, then scored when the next batter, Morgan, reached on a dropped throw to first base. Morgan stole her way into scoring position, and was brought home by Samantha Basuk's double into left-center. Kristina Fietkiewicz drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in the inning.

Incorvaia went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs in the win. Kathleen Clinchy and Alyssa Yackle each went 2-for-3 with Clinchy driving in two runs and scoring once.

F&M posted one run in each of the first four innings in the nightcap. Hazelton's Dayna Williams threw a strong outing, allowing a single earned run with her defense committing four errors.

Jessika Mancino went 2-for-3 scoring the game's first run on a Jones' sacrifice fly. Alyssa Yackle became the game's winning run in the second inning when Caitlin Elfring stole second base. Yackle held her spot at third while Elfring pulled up short of second, baiting the throw. Yackle took off when the Hazelton catcher bit to make it 2-0.

Mancino and Liz Iannaconi each went 2-for-3 for the Diplomats, while Elfring went 2-for-4. Elfring, Jones and Incorvaia each drove in a run.

F&M returns to action on Sunday against Washington College.
