CARLISLE, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's softball team closed out the Centennial Conference portion of its season with a pair of close losses at Dickinson on Saturday. F&M (9-21, 5-11 CC) fell 3-1 in the opener, while the Red Devils (24-14, 12-4 CC) edged out a 4-2 win in the nightcap.

Allie Jordan (14-6) limited F&M to five hits while striking out nine batters to deliver the opener to Dickinson. The game was knotted at 1-1 in the fifth when the Red Devils' Theresa Souza singled into centerfield to plate Rachel Fleming for the go-ahead run. The next batter, Lisa Biddle hit a sacrifice fly to plate an insurance run.

Jordan recorded her fourth save of the season in the nightcap working in relief of Liz Barry. Barry surrendered both of F&M's runs, neither of which was earned, in six innings in the circle. Jordan struck out two batters and allowed one hit in her inning,

F&M's Robyn Jones went three-for-four in the nightcap. Caitlin Elfring was two-for-three with a run scored.

The Diplomats return to action at home on Tuesday for their final pair of the season. F&M will face York (Pa.) at 3:30 p.m.
