The Furman women's track & field team finished eighth at the Southern Conference meet with a total of 26 points, and the Paladin men finished seventh, with 22 team points.
Junior Patrick Morgan led the men's team with a first place finish in the 800 meter event. Morgan recorded a time of 1:51.78 in the finals, only .05 seconds away from his personal best. His time earned him All-Southern Conference honors.
Freshman Sederrick Cunningham qualified for the finals in the 200 meter, finishing eighth with a time of 22.54. Junior Jeff O'Connell finished in the top five in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Leading the women was freshman Monique Ositelu, who won her qualifying heat in the 800 meter, and finished third in the finals with a time of 2:15.36. Ositelu's time in the event was also a personal best.
Junior Lindsay Barker also performed well in the 800 meter, qualifying for the finals and earning a sixth-place finish with a time of 2:21.56. Junior Megan Lordi finished in the top five in the 10,000 meter event.
