Jonathan Hodge (69-73-71=213) carded a final round 71 to claim individual medalist honors and help Chattanooga edge Clemson (292-291-294=877) by three strokes Sunday at the 39th annual Furman Intercollegiate.
Hodge, tied for second entering the final round, finished one stroke ahead of Vanderbilt's Jon Curran (71-72-71=214) and two strokes in front of third place Roberto Diaz (72-74-69=215) of USC Aiken. The Mocs (287-291-296=874), who captured their first Furman Intercollegiate title, led at the conclusion of all three rounds at the par 72, 6,800-yard Furman University Golf Course.
South Carolina (290-294-298=882) finished third while Western Carolina (295-302-291=888) and Vanderbilt (293-301-294=888) rounded out the top five in a fourth place tie at 24-over-par.
The host Furman Paladins (297-302-295=894) finished in a tie for eighth with Ohio State at 30-over-par. Senior Ben Goforth (74-78-72=224) paced the Paladins at eight-over to finish in a tie for 26th. Garrett Schneider (73-79-73=225), playing as an individual, fired a final round 73 to place 31st.
The start of the final round was delayed until 11:45 a.m. after second round play had to be completed on Sunday morning due to Saturday's play being suspended by darkness.

Furman travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to take part in the Wofford Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Carolina County Club.
