Spartanburg, S.C. -- The Furman men's golf team paced the field with a final round six-over-par 294 to claim a four-stroke victory at the 21st Annual Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational at the Carolina Country Club on Tuesday.
Jonathan Bowden, who placed 10th, posted an even-par 72 to lead Furman's efforts as the Paladins (293-285-294=872) claimed their second team title of the season. Senior Ben Goforth (69-67-74=210) tied for first place at the conclusion of 54 holes, but lost a scorecard draw with Hugh Morrison (70-66-74=210) of Presbyterian. Matt Hayes (71-71-74=216) finished tournament play at even-par to earn a share of seventh place.
USC Upstate (298-283-295=876) finished four strokes back of the Paladins with Presbyterian, Wofford and Stetson rounding out the top five.
Furman captured its first tournament title of the season in September at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate in Florence, S.C.
Furman returns to action April 12-13, at the Robert Keppler Intercollegiate at Ohio State University before travelling to Charleston, S.C., for the Southern Conference Championships April 20-22.
