Second Round Results 
Florence, S.C. -- Freshman Austin Reeves fired a one-under 71 to move within three strokes of the leader and Furman posted a seven-over 295 to hold third place following the second round of the Southern Conference Men's Golf Championship at the par-72 Country Club of South Carolina on Monday.
Reeves (73-71=144), a product of Eastside High School, birdied three holes on the day and played the front nine at one-under to move to even par for the tournament. He sits in a tie for ninth, just three strokes behind leader Ben Rickett (72-69=141) of Chattanooga.
Paladin senior Ben Goforth (70-73=143) is in a tie for fifth at one-under after a second round 73 on Monday. Western Carolina's Matt Cook (75-67=142), who fired a tournament-best 67 in round two, hold second place along with Nathan Stamey of UNCG and Soonam Kim of Charleston.
With four players shooting below par in during the second round, 12th-ranked Chattanooga (290-281=571) extended its first round lead with a seven-under 281 in round two. The Mocs hold an eight-stroke lead on Charleston (291-288=579) and 15-stroke advantage on Furman (291-295=586) entering Tuesday's final round in the 54-hole tournament.
Final round action begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Furman, College of Charleston and Chattanooga will tee off beginning at 8:40 a.m.
