During his junior season, Kociecki posted a 8-7 singles record, playing primarily at the No. 6 position. He has not lost a Southern Conference match, going 4-0 in singles play in 2007.
After battling through an injury during his freshman year, Kociecki was able to compete in several matches last season. The Raleigh, N.C., native has yet to lose a collegiate match with singles wins over George Washington, Erskine and Washington & Lee. He will continue to push for a role in the starting lineup.
Prep/Personal: In the summer of 2006, Kociecki competed in a number of ITF events in Poland. Kociecki finished his prep career ranked No. 1 in singles in the state of North Carolina. In 2004, he won the North Carolina State Closed tournament and was a National Hard Court participant in Kalamazoo, Mich.Mike was born November 22, 1985 to Leszek and Wanda Kociecki. He is a health and exercise science major.
