#72 Furman Tops Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The 72nd-ranked Furman men's tennis team improved to 4-0 in conference play with a 6-1 win over Chattanooga on Sunday.

Furman swept all three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead in the match. At the top spot, the 58th-ranked team of Andy Juc and Chris Motes defeated Peter Sauska and Pavel Vostrikov. At the number two spot, the Paladin tandem of Bo Ladyman and Jordan Walters topped Razvan Axente and Badr Bouabdellah, while Jason Basile and Andrei Chvetsov picked up the third doubles win for Furman with a 8-2 victory over Robert Diamond and Hasan Hamadeh.

The Paladins won all but one singles match to complete the 6-1 victory.

With the win, Furman improves to 8-10 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Conference, while Chattanooga falls to 10-7 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Paladins return to action on Wednesday, April 2 as they host Appalachian State in a match scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
