Lady Paladins Take on Appalachian State

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Lady Paladin basketball team travels to Boone, N.C. this weekend to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers. The game will take place in the Holmes Center on the campus of Appalachian State with an approximate tip-off time of 2:00 p.m.

Appalachian State leads the overall series 32-24. The two teams met last season, with the Lady Mountaineers taking a 69-60 win. Furman was led by Kali Holtfreter with 12 points, the third straight game that the freshman has reached double-digits in scoring. Sarah Baker added 11 for the Lady Paladins.

The Lady Paladins are coming off a 77-62 loss to Western Carolina in Timmons Arena. With the help of a 13-0 run early in the first half, the Western Carolina Catamounts defeated the Furman Lady Paladins 77-62 in SoCon basketball action Monday. Sophomore Lee Stephens led three Lady Paladins in double-digit scoring with 15 points, while junior Sarah Baker added 11 points and six rebounds and senior Chrissy Phelps recorded 10 total points and seven assists.

Appalachian State is currently 4-14 overall and 1-6 in the Southern Conference. The team's lone league win was a 58-56 victory over Elon in overtime.
