Lady Paladins Open Four-Game Home Stand Against Wofford

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Furman Lady Paladin basketball team will kick off a four-game home stand with a 3:00 p.m. matchup on Saturday against cross-town rival Wofford.

Furman leads the all-time series 25-4. Earlier this season, Despite a strong run by Furman late in the second half, the Wofford Lady Terriers were able to hold on to win a Southern Conference thriller, 78-71. In a first half that featured five ties and six lead changes, the Lady Paladins led by as many as seven points, helped by sophomore Lee Stephen's 13-point first half and junior Sarah Baker's 12 points, as well as a combined 45.8 shooting percentage. Stephens scored a career-best 24 points in the game.

The Terriers are currently 9-11 on the season and 2-7 in the Southern Conference. They currently hold a seven game losing streak, with recent losses at Davidson (58-70) and Appalachian State (79-92).

Furman is coming off a 74-59 loss to Davidson on Tuesday night. Junior Mercedes Robinson recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lift Davidson to the league win over Furman.

The game will take place in Timmons Arena with an approximate start time of 3:00 p.m. It will also be broadcast through Stretch Internet, available at www.furmanpaladins.com.
